The Beginning Is The Best

The Beginning Is The Best
A great teacher once told me he enjoyed teaching and training beginners. He said “they are like red hot metal that can be easily shaped and formed”. He also believed that by teaching beginners you would improved your own expertise, as you must be capable of explaining the skills or techniques which you thought you had already mastered. He was right, there is always room to learn.

When you start something new, there can be a fear and doubt of making mistakes. As a beginner you have to overcome that and revel in the joy of learning. Remember, everyone starts as a beginner, everything will be new to you and you will make mistakes, this is the process of learning.
Seek out that knowledge yourself or if you’re lucky enough, find a good teacher to guide you. And as you advance from being a beginner, try to remember to remain that ‘hot metal‘ so you can keep refining your skills, for once the metal gets cold it becomes difficult to mold.
Do you sometimes wish to become a beginner again ?
